When I first started in sales I would put emphasis on the engineering part of my title. Hurrying and softening the word sales and then emphasizing the word engineer when introducing myself as a sales engineer. About 8 months in to my career a customer gave me a book on selling. On the first page it stated that you have two jobs to be successful in sales. First you need to convince people that it is in their best interest to trust you and do business with you, and second you have to ensure that it is in their best interest to trust you and do business with you. There isn't anything at all negative about that, and from that point on I stopped de-emphasizing the word sales in my title.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
